Alvin David Beckham, 85, of Brunswick passed Wednesday at S.E. GA Health Systems. He was a native of Pierce County moving here in 1957. Mr. Beckham was a veteran of World War II. He was retired from B & W after 29 years of service. He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church, and Ocean Lodge #214. Alvin was an avid gardener, fisherman, and loved to cook for his family. He also was a volunteer worker at the Altahama Park for its improvement. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Thelma Kathleen Beckham of Brunswick; 2 sons, Alvin Larry (Carol) Beckham of Brunswick, and David (June) Beckham also of Brunswick. A daughter, Patricia (Carl) Page of Brunswick. 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 AM in the chapel at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Ed Hurst. Burial following in the Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday night from 6 to 8 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Collette Lee-Lewis for her compassionate care and going above and beyond in providing her care for Mr. Beckham.
