Ann Payne Price passed away on September 24, 2026, on St. Simons Island, Georgia, at the age of 90.

Ann was Southern, classy, and gracious, and could lift you up with her beautiful smile and the crinkle of her eyes. Born in Rome, Georgia, on June 29, 1936, she was the daughter of Grace Brown Payne and Robert Earl Payne and the eldest of the three beloved “Payne Girls.” Her sisters, Earlene and Mary, both predeceased her in recent years. Together, they were truly something special.

When Ann was 12, her family moved to Wrightsville, Georgia, where she met a boy named Clark Price—the young man who would become the love of her life. She attended Georgia State College for Women (GSCW) in Milledgeville and later completed her business education at Georgia State University in Atlanta. While Clark earned his degree in mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech, Ann became a loyal Yellow Jacket fan.

Ann and Clark married in 1956 and welcomed two children, Leigh and Chip. Ann devoted eight years to raising them at home before beginning a 22-year career in marketing research at Coca-Cola USA in Atlanta.

After “graduating” from Coke, Ann took a leap into the art world and began studying drawing and painting. Following the move to St. Simons Island, she found her true medium in oils and joined other local artists to learn, share, and enjoy the lasting friendships they formed—with Clark enthusiastically alongside her. Ann and Clark traveled abroad often, weaving art instruction into their journeys as they captured panoramic views and local scenery that she later brought to life on canvas.

At home, Ann showed love for her grandchildren in many ways. They really treasured their GrandMom’s chocolate chip cookies, pound cake, and other homemade treats, especially for breakfast! They also loved being a part of activities such as when she jumped in the pool and led them through rigorous water aerobics, as everyone giggled and tried to keep up.

Ann is survived by her husband of 70 years, Franklin Clark Price, Sr.; her daughter, Leigh Price Milford (David McKay); and her son, Dr. Franklin Clark “Chip” Price, Jr. (Lauren).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Price Brown (Trey), Franklin Clark Price III, Harrison Price Milford, and Carter Gregory Milford (Kelsey); and her great-grandchildren, Hadley Grace Brown and Maris Clarke Brown.
