Anthony "Tony" Joseph DiGioia, age 84, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away on September 14, 2023. He was born on December 22, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony and Mary DiGioia.

Tony lived life to its fullest. An avid boater, traveler, and sports enthusiast, he never met a stranger. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and spent summers on the "Jersey Shore," creating cherished memories of fun-filled events with his beloved family. Tony earned his boat captain's license and enjoyed over 50 years of boating adventures, sharing the richness of life on the water with his family. He introduced his wife Barbara to boating, and together they spent countless hours on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Chesapeake Bay. They traveled across Europe, with special trips to Italy, where Tony could trace his heritage. Tony also enjoyed golfing, riding his bike, and loved his Goldendoodle dogs.

In addition to his hobbies, Tony was a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports. He followed the Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, and Phillies, celebrating championships with each team. He especially enjoyed watching and tracking sports with his sons, David and Steve, and his four grandchildren, Anthony, Sophia, Sarah and Grace. Tony's passion for sports reflected his vibrant and enthusiastic personality.

Anthony had a successful 39-year career, starting as a management trainee with Bell of PA. He worked his way up to become Vice President of External Affairs with Verizon for Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, he served on 17 Boards of Directors throughout Pennsylvania, including the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Chambers of Commerce, Philadelphia Walnut Street Theater, Philadelphia Council - Boy Scouts, Philadelphia Arts Council, U. S. Public Affairs Council, Big 33 Football, and Philadelphia Economic Development Council. He led a statewide team of External Affairs Directors, where he was instrumental in establishing Verizon's policy for deregulation, philanthropy and stakeholder relations.

Tony proudly served in the U.S. Army during his military service. His commitment to duty and service was a testament to his character.

Tony's educational achievements include attending Central High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He furthered his studies at Dickinson College, where he pursued Mathematics and Physics. Additionally, he completed the Executive Management Program at the University of Pittsburgh.

Tony was a member of Presbyterian Churches in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and most recently, The Golden Isles of Georgia. His faith provided him with strength and guidance throughout his life.
