Barbara Eastman McIntyre, 71, of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, passed away on May 17, 2025. She was born on September 16, 1953, to the late Harmon Eastman McIntyre and Margaret Glynn Gallimore in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Barbara graduated from North Springs High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia, in 1971. She went on to work for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier until her retirement, after which she found work at the King and Prince Golf Club. While she may have titled herself a bartender, Barbara became a Mother Hen to many and found ways to be helpful anywhere she could around the restaurant. She also sought out opportunities to help those around her outside of work, picking up tasks when she could to make life just a little easier for neighbors, friends, and anyone whose path she crossed.

After moving to Saint Simons in the 1980s, Barbara fell in love with the area. She loved collecting and sharing knowledge about Saint Simons, including the history, people, and environment. More than anything, she loved having a good time and always made it a point to live life to the fullest. Barbara could often be found walking the beach, seeking out live music around the town, or hunting for a good yard sale. She enjoyed fashion, clothes, and spending time with those who meant the most to her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Margaret "Glynn" McIntyre.

She is survived by her children, Courtney Sanders and Thomas Schuh; a brother, David McIntyre (Karen); a niece, Anna Strickland; as well as several other family members and many lifelong friends who became like family.
