Betty McLoughlin Betty Mae (Adriance) McLoughlin died on May 1, 2014 at Marsh's Edge Retirement Community, St. Simons Island, GA. She was 88 years old. Betty was born in Hackensack, New Jersey in 1925 and married Kevin Patrick McLoughlin in 1960. Her parents, Joseph and Phoebe Adriance and her husband Kevin preceded her in death. Betty was a faithful employee at IBM Headquarters in New York City for many years serving as the Secretary to the CEO. She was a graduate of Pompton Lakes High School, Class of 1942. Betty and her husband Kevin lived in New Jersey, New York, and Seattle, WA and vacationed in St. Simons Island GA for many years before retiring to St. Simons Island. Betty was a homemaker, taking care of her family and friends. She enjoyed interior design, gardening, and caring for her beloved cat, Marshmallow. She was gentle, kind and giving. She had a great sense of humor, beauty, charm and grace. She lived a life of Christian devotion and was a friend to all who knew her. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 7th at the Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm by Rev. Robert Showers, O.F.M., Conv. A private burial will be held on Thursday, May 8th. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick GA 31525.
