Betty Louise Slaughter, 93, died on Monday, March 15, 2021, at her home in Brunswick, Georgia. Born on September 10, 1927, to the late James and Laila Ammons in Odum, Georgia, she married Joseph Slaughter Sr on June 14, 1942, here in Brunswick. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Slaughter Sr; a sister, Ruth Smith; and a grandson, Lance Slaughter. Survivors include her children, Joey Slaughter (Peggy), Sharon Krauss (Ron), Bill Slaughter (Fran), and James Slaughter (Donna); twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or Arco United Methodist Church. A special thank you to the nurses of Kindred Home Health, Hospice of the Golden Isles, and caregivers, Betty Simpson and "Q" Baudu. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19th, 2021 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Reverend Wesley Deverger officiating. Entombment will take place at Brunswick Memorial Park. The family will gather at her daughter, Sharon's home at 210 Whorton Drive. Pallbearers will be Scott Brandies, Mark Fried, Harold Roberts III, Todd Rossi, Rusty Sloan, and Todd Holder.
