Beverly Jean Purdy, 80, Kingsland, GA, formerly of Madison, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. After several years of illness, God healed her. Born December 7th, 1943 to John William Lewis and Irene Mae Scudder in Switzerland County, IN. After living in Vevay, they moved to Madison, IN. She went to Madison High School.

She married Wallace Harry Sullivan Nov. 11, 1959. They had three children, Shirley Jean, LaQuita Jo, and Jonnie Gayle. She later married Donald Lee Purdy September 4, 1982. She worked in childcare, nursing homes and housekeeping. She enjoyed traveling and cooking.

Beverly is survived by two daughters; LaQuita Jo Herrin, Kingsland and Jonnie Gayle Sheetz (Jamie), Biloxi, MS; son-in-law, Donald Mullen, Biloxi, MS; stepdaughter, Kelly Brandt (Thomas), OH, and stepson, Kyle Purdy (Ann), TN. Grandchildren; Benjamin Sullivan (Amanda), Brianne Thomas (Steven), Brandi Lyn Sullivan, ; Donnie Mullen (Kelly), James Sheetz (fiancée Ashley), Jessica Herrin, Ashelyn Sheetz Anderson (Danny), Austin Sheetz, Joseph Purdy, Olivia Purdy Smith (Andrew) and Kristen Purdy Tenniswood(Paul). Great-grandchildren; Autumn and Sebastian Sullivan, Liberty and Annalia Thomas, Fisher, Sawyer, Silas, Hannah, Ethan, Austin Mullen, Arson, Lydia, Chris, Isaac, and AdaLynn Sheetz. Two sisters; Marilyn Morris (Earl), Vevay, IN and Delores Simmonds (Bob), Hanover, IN. Sister-in-law, Shirley Carmichael, Jeffersonville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Charles Stewart; her two husbands; daughter, Shirley Jean Mullen; granddaughter, Brandi Lyn Sullivan; brother-in-law, Loren Carmichael, brother/ sister-in-law, Frank and Carmen Sullivan, brother/sister-in-law, Ronald and Juanita Robbins; nephews, David Morris, Joe Simmonds, and John Simmonds.

She was cremated by Golden Isles Cremation Center, Brunswick Memorial Park, Brunswick, GA.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
