Billy Jones, 84, of Brunswick, died Tuesday at his residence. Mr. Jones was a longtime resident of Brunswick. He was a retired insurance agent with Independent Life Insurance Company after 43 years. He was a member of New Life Sanctuary, and a former member of Golden Isles Church of God, Norwich Street Church of God, Palatka Church of God, and the Edmond Church of God in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mr. Jones was very active in all of his church work. He served seven years in the United States National Guard. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wanell Jones of Brunswick; son, Bill Jones of Brunswick; daughter; Cindy Underwood of Brunswick; four sisters, Florence Holub of Orangeburg S.C., Myrtis Jeffcoat of Orangeburg, S.C., Esther Fairey of Orangeburg, S.C., Dot Driggers of Simpsonville, S.C.; four brothers, H.L. Jones of Orangeburg, S.C., Johnny J. Jones of Brunswick, Wayne Jones of Anderson, S.C., James Allen Jones of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at New Life Sanctuary with Pastor James Allen Jones and Pastor Kirk Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Parke, Bradley Jones, Ryan Jones, Austin Parke, Dawson Parke, Luke Parke, Trey Bennett, Dell Bennett, Steven Decker and Logan Sherrod. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or New Life Sanctuary.
