Carl E. "Wildman" Garbutt, 59, resident of Brunswick, died Sunday at Southeast Georgia Health System. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Wednesday in the Chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Shelton Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A native of Washington, GA. Has been a resident of Glynn County since 1954. He attended the Open Bible Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and game trapper. He served in the United States Army and was a Viet Nam Veteran where he received a purple heart. Survivors are his mother Clyde S. Garbutt of Brunswick, Four daughters, Lori Garbutt of Baxley, Patricia Garbutt of Odum, Merri Murkerson (Jaymie) of Brunswick and Cassie Garbutt of Odum. One Sister, Sandy Griffin (Thatcher) of Brunswick. One Brother, David Garbutt (Vonda) of Brunswick. His best friend and companion, Veta Cannon of Brunswick. Two "adopted" children, Dusty Evans and Katrena Marr both of Brunswick. Several Nieces and Nephews. Pallbearer's are, Keith Bell, James Bell, Steven Flowers, Mark King, Craig Singletary and Larry Rogers. Honorary Pallbearer's are Don Floyd, Harold Cope, Willis Thomas, Joe Lee, Roy Frazier, Kinneth Stivender, Ben Grantham, Carl Cannon, Burt Thomas, Chuck Thrower, Dr. Abraham Cheong and Staff. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home.
