Charles Douglas Taylor III, 32, passed away unexpectedly at home due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease on Sunday, June 27, 2021, on St. Simons Island.
Douglas was born October 5, 1988, in Brunswick, GA. He is the son of Charles Douglas Taylor Jr and Janice Stutts Taylor. Douglas graduated from Glynn Academy in 2007 followed by Ogeechee Technical College and Altamaha Technical College for welding certification. Douglas was an accomplished swimmer in his youth who went on to become a skilled carpenter. He was a devoted father who cherished spending time with his family, enjoying nature and visiting Fort Frederica frequently, where his grandfather was born on the family property before it was a national park. He was a sixth-generation lifelong resident of St. Simons Island.
He is survived by his wife, Tifani Kei Eldon; son, Charles Douglas Taylor IV (Charley); parents, Douglas and Janice Taylor; sister, Lauren Taylor Potter (Rickey); nephew, William Taylor Potter; niece, Sadie Elizabeth
Potter; aunt, Deborah Stutts Jones; great uncle, Axel W. Carlson III; great aunt, Dorothy Carlson; cousins, Richard Haggerty III, Ryan Haggerty, Douglas Haggerty, David Jones Jr, and Caroline Taylor.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy O. Stutts, Mamie Ileen Stutts, Charles D. Taylor Sr, and Carole Carlson; uncle, Robert Carlson Taylor.
A private family memorial will be held.
