Charles (Chuck) Delbert Wilkes, 90, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021, at home after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carolyn Cook Wilkes, his four children, Rick Wilkes (Nancy), Del Wilkes, Geri Wilkes (Debbie), and Laurie Wilkes Frank (JC). Grandchildren, Sean Wilkes, Maggie Wilkes Conrad (Jason), Joey Harrison (Tavia), Ashley Leguollon, and Cal Frank and Great Grandchildren Logan Wilkes, Chris Conrad, Dylan Conrad, Cole Conrad, Kylie Harrison, Boston Harrison, and Sophie Leguollon. Chuck was born January 1, 1931, in Jacksonville, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Wilkes and Mary Lizzie Elkins Wilkes, his brothers Leon Wilkes, Russell Wilkes, Ruel Wilkes, Erroll Wilkes, and their wives. Chuck learned the Electrician trade from his brother Erroll and became a Master Electrician in the state of Georgia. He had his own Electrical Contracting business for over 40 years and worked in the Electrical Shop at Hercules for 20 years. He loved fishing with his sons and grandson Cal. He enjoyed reading, watching Westerns and War Movies, collecting, and sharing jokes, and spending time with friends and family. He loved exploring the north Georgia mountains with his wife Carolyn and her brother Benton and his wife Pat. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 28th at Brunswick Memorial Park at 1pm and 2pm respectively. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Golden Isles.
