It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christian Joseph Matherly, who left this world on Thursday, October 29th, 2026, at the age of 33. Christian was a beloved member of the Brunswick, Georgia community, where he was born on a beautiful Sunday, August 1st, 1993.

Christian was a cherished friend, son, and neighbor. His presence will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Christian was known for his kindness, keen sense of humor, and a heart that was always open to others. Cj is a graduate of Brunswick High School and was a trombone player in the marching band. He enjoyed loud music, singing in the church choir, and socializing with his friends and loved ones. CJ attended Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the choir. He also played in the county soccer league and playing video games.

Christian is survived by his parents: Jerry and Rita Matherly. His children: Abrielle, Willow, Christopher, and Jaxson. He also leaves behind 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Predeceased by one brother, Eric N. Matherly.

A service to celebrate the life of Christian will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Bible Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Landrum officiating.
