Helen Christine Corum Ross, 85, of Brunswick passed away at home on November 22, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Heschel Ross. She will be remembered as an angelic spirit who sparkled with good humor and endless unconditional love. She was born February 3, 1920 in Kenton, TN where she was known as 'Teenie' the 'most popular girl in elementary school.' She earned a home economics degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. After college, she taught elementary school, worked at the munitions plant in Milan, TN and was a bank runner in Memphis. Reunited after the separation of war, she married Robert H. Ross on May 10, 1944. As a U.S. Navy wife, Christine made homes and loved life at dozens of addresses. Her favorite home was in Brunswick, Georgia where the family first moved in 1965. In addition to being a skilled and devoted wife, homemaker and mother, she was a political volunteer in Beaufort, SC for Barry Goldwater''s presidential campaign in 1964. Surviving are a son, Victor L. Ross of Blythe Island and his former wife, Tricia Ross and his daughters, Elizabeth Ross Hubbell, Bonnie Christine Ross and Linda Faye Ross; son, Robert Richard Ross of Yorktown, VA married to Alice Caudill Ross and their children, Allison Christine Ross and James Richard Ross; a daughter, Karen Ross of St. Simons Island and her husband, Charles S. Taylor, III; a niece, Peggy Corum Webb of Germantown, TN married to Bobby Webb and their children, Christopher Corum Webb and Richard Neal Webb; and other beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fleet Reserve Association (125 N. West St., Alexandria, VA 22314), Altama Presbyterian Church (4621 Altama Avenue, Brunswick, GA 31520) or to Hospice of the Golden Isles (1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525).
