Clifford Melvin Westberry, 88, of Brunswick, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 25, 2012 while at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Clifford was born June 23, 1924 in Wayne County, GA to the late Alonzo and May Belle Westberry. Clifford was an avid gardener evidenced by the many people passing by to view his flower beds around his home and other establishments in and around town in Brunswick. He loved baseball, especially the Braves, and when he was younger, coached Little League Ball. He had a great love for his family, was a kind and generous man always giving to others. He was a man of humility and had a sense of servitude to the Lord. Survivors include his beloved wife of 68 years, Maxine Cribbs Westberry; sons, Larry C. Westberry (Charlene) of Brunswick, Roger "Dale" Westberry of Sandestin, FL., and daughter, Gail Westberry Neuberger of Brunswick. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Padgett of North Augusta, S.C., sister Doris Thornton of Jesup, GA., and a brother, Howard Westberry of Caladonia, MS. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church, 3105 Wildwood Dr., at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery on the Old Jesup Road. Immediately following the service, food will be served in the fellowship hall at Calvary Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Westberry, Chris Rosamond, Jerry Miller, Jimmy Miller, Robert Thornton and Benny Cribbs. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fishermen Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of the Golden Isles, or a charity of their choice.
