Colene J. Eberly, 80, born August 22, 1933, left us on July 29, 2014. She is preceded in death by a son, James Claude Eberly and a daughter-in-law, Denise K. Eberly. She leaves behind a husband, Donald Whitfield Eberly Sr.; a son, Donald Whitfield Eberly Jr.; grandsons, John Paul Eberly and wife Joanna, Eric James Maynard; and great grandson, Parker Whitfield Eberly all of Brunswick, GA. She has one sister, Shirley Leah Henry of Albin, WY and several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a Civil Service employee for many years at Glynco and Ft. Stewart in Disbursement and retired in 1994. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fleet Reserve Auxiliary and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Brunswick Chapter. The family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association, Hospice of the Golden Isles, The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be Saturday August 9, 2014 from 3-4 pm following with memorial services from 4-5 pm at the Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel on U.S. Highway 17 North.
