Deborah Brown Burns, 50, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away at her residence Friday, March 22, 2013. Mrs. Burns was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on August 23, 1962. She graduated from high school in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1980. In 1981 she married her husband, Joseph L. Burns and they moved to Jacksonville, Florida. There she attended the Florida College of Medical and Dental Career where she received her Associate Degree as a Dental Radiographer. Mrs. Burns worked for Dr. Larry Young, D.D.S. for 13 years until moving to Brunswick in 2001. She worked for Home Instead Senior Care for 3 years. She then found calling when she started Debbie's Gourds and began going to craft festivals. The Golden Isles could not get enough of her crafts!
Mrs. Burns is preceded in death by her parents, Bradley Miller Brown and Carolyn Brinkley Myers, her step-father James William Myers, and a sister Donna Burns.
She is survived by her husband Joseph L. Burns; a daughter Samantha L. Burns; a granddaughter Autumn L. Powell; sisters, Donna J. Brown, Elizabeth B. Porter; brothers, Michael Burns, Bryan Burns, Charles Burns, and Bruce Burns.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday, March 25, 2013 at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the chapel of the funeral home of Brunswick Memorial Park with Pastor Dan Harris officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Sailor Gourmet Food Group.
