On Sunday, January 10, 2021, after a courageous fight with multiple health issues, Dell Allen Jackson, 85, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God saw that his faithful servant had suffered long enough. Dell loved his Heavenly Father, his family, and his church. He thanked God every day for the family he had as a child and later in life.
Dell was born on February 4, 1935, in Jacksonville, FL, to Joseph Paul and Helen Zeiders Jackson. He often told fascinating stories of his youth in Orlando, Chicago, and Shartlesville, PA. He is predeceased by his parents and 9 siblings: Marci, Cherie, Charlene, Eola, George, Jack, Mary Lou, Paul, and Douglas. His early years were marked by tireless work as a farmhand, truck driver, and solider in the U.S. Army (Korea/Japan). In those days he was a brute of a man; often called "The Bull."
Dell is survived by his loving wife, Sammie; his children, Tammy, Timothy, and Gary; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two "adopted" grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church, 3780 US Hwy 82, Brunswick, GA 31523. The visitation will start at 2:00 PM with a service to follow at 3:00 PM. For those unable to attend, the service will be streamed live on the church's Facebook page at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Dell's memory.
