Donald Ray Carter, 81, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away on January 4, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. He was born on September 21, 1943, to the late Luther Utah Carter and Georgia Drury Carter.

Donald served in the US Navy and he later joined the US Army National Guard. He was a proud veteran who loved his country. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, and God above all else. Donald was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 35 years. Most days you could find him taking notes in his bible or rereading his favorite verses. He was a devout Christian and spoke the word to everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Annie Branson Carter; his brother, Vernon Ellis Drury; as well as his parents.

He is survived by his children, Amy Carter Collett and Timothy Ray Carter; step-children, Clark Houston (Denise), Bonnie Davis (Ronnie), and Gary Houston; a sister, Jeannette Carter Dodd; grandchildren, Christan Mock, Brayden Mock (Anna), Caleb Carter (Taylor), Hunter Collett, Bella Collett; and a great-grandson, Jayden Ray Mock.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00.
