Donald Whitfield Eberly Sr., 85, of Brunswick, GA, was born July 4, 1930 in Baytown, TX. He left this world on September 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Whitfield Eberly and Josie Patterson Eberly; his brother, Warren David Eberly; his wife, Colene James Eberly; his son, James Claude Eberly; and daughter-in-law, Denise K. (Barry) Eberly. He leaves behind his son, Donald Whitfield Eberly, Jr.; 2 grandsons, John Paul Eberly and wife Joanna, Eric James Maynard; a great grandson, Parker Whitfield Eberly; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Donald served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 until he retired in 1977. He was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, American Legion, the Navy Fleet Reserve, Elks Lodge, and many other local organizations. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Zeitlin officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment with full military honors will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Navy Fleet Reserve Members.
