Donna Lynn Simmons, known to so many simply as Lynn, was born on October 20, 1958, and passed away on February 21, 2026.
Lynn was a Christian, and her life carried a quiet and steady thread of faith. She believed in love that stays, love that shows up, and love that does not turn away. Those who truly knew her understood that she gave love as if it were a promise.
As a girl, Lynn grew up on a farm, where she learned what it meant to live close to the earth and to cherish simple things. Later, she became a city girl, elegant, curious, and full of life, moving through the world with a rare mix of grit and grace. She had an artist's eye and a traveler's soul. At a young age, she was invited to the White House with her classmates, and she went on to become a true world traveler in every sense.
Lynn earned her degree in art and built a life that reflected her creativity and courage. She became a successful professional model and participated in a significant cultural moment when she appeared on The Donahue Show alongside a small group of fellow professional models. She carried that experience with both pride and humility. She later became a gifted food stylist, working on sets for major films and prominent companies, contributing to commercials, advertising work, and creative productions that went far beyond what most people ever see behind the scenes.
Lynn appreciated the finer things in life, yet her heart was never limited by appearances. She cared for people from all walks of life and was always drawn to help wherever she could. She volunteered her time supporting the Democratic Party because she believed in civic responsibility and in standing up for others, often quietly and without seeking recognition.
Above all, Lynn loved deeply. Her mother was her best friend in adulthood, and their bond was a center point of her life, marked by closeness, devotion, and tenderness.
Those closest to Lynn will remember something she often said, words that now feel like a blessing she left behind: "As long as I am alive, you will be loved."
And because Lynn's love was real, it does not end here. Her friends loved her the same way, steadfastly, and we will carry her name, her laughter, her stories, and her light forward. As long as we are alive, her memory will live on. Lynn is survived by the friends who loved her and stood beside her: Jeff, Michael, Edward, Simon, Eddie, Jill, David, and Tiffany.
Bill, her friend, was steadfastly in her corner.
Lynn's life was far bigger than the hardships she endured. She was art and courage, softness and strength, humor and style, tenderness and truth. She deserved gentleness. She deserved safety. She deserved to be cherished. And she was cherished by those who truly saw her.
May Lynn rest in peace, held in the mercy of God, and surrounded by a love that will not let her go.
Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home was honored to assist Lynn’s cherished family of friends.
