Doris Genevie Moore, a devoted homemaker, 85 (born January 2, 1931 at the Naval Base in Portsmouth, VA), passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was the daughter of Leonard T. Newton, Sr. and Elsie Maude Newton. Doris is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Theodore E. Moore, Sr., son, Ted Moore, Jr., two daughters, Trish Hardman, Kathy Rhodes, Grandsons, Michael Strickland, Trey Moore, Thomas Moore Hardman, Granddaughter, Jamie Strickland Timmons (James Donald Timmons, Jr.). Two Great Granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Timmons and Amy Claire Timmons and two Great Grandsons, Austin Blake Moore and Cory Alexander Moore. She is also survived by two brothers, Leonard T. Newton, Jr. (Mary) and Donald O. Newton (Martha). Doris always had a beautiful smile, loving personality, loved by many and will be missed by many family and friends. She dearly loved her Sunday mornings at College Place Methodist Church. Funeral will be Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. and visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
