Obituary

Dorothy Mae Harper Faulk, 96, was welcomed with open arms at Heavens Gate's Saturday, May 8, 2021 after a short illness at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Dot was born May 21, 1924 in Racepond Ga to Joseph and Annie Harper. After graduating from Waycona High in Waycross she enrolled in business school and started her career as a bookkeeper until she met and married the love her life, Pat in 1948. Starting their family, she chose to stay home and raise her three children, Chuck, Patricia and Lea Anne. As the children became adults, she returned to work retiring from Shell and Hogan Accounting in 1986. Once retired she and Pat enjoyed traveling and camping in their motorhome but what brought her the most joy was spending time with her family. She loved celebrating holidays and birthdays with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Lions Club, Garden Club, Good Sam's Camping Club and a volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years. She is proceeded in death by her husband Charles R. Faulk Sr. (Pat) her parents, Joe and Annie Harper, brother Buddy Harper, two sisters Mildred Faulk and Marion Conner. Dot is survived by her children, Charles R (Chuck) Faulk Jr. (Sue), Patricia Ross, and Lea Anne Cobb (Jeff). Grandchildren Elizabeth Hubbell (Sam), Charles R (Charlie)Faulk III (Susan) Heather Lancaster (Josh), Haley Collett (Justin), Kyle Cobb (Tori). Great grandchildren Harrison and Kendall Faulk, Ramie Smith, Savannah Lancaster, Caiden Collett and Mason Cobb. Sisters Joanne Bartley (Bob), Juanita Lee (Eddie) and brother Alton Harper (Virginia), many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may to be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 10 AM at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11 with Brother Jerry Johns. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
