Dorothy L. Humphrey, 80, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mrs. Humphrey was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick. She retired from Ballard Elementary School where she worked as a teacher's aide for 20 years. She is survived by two sons, Mark Allen Humphrey (Brenda) of Atlanta and James Odis Humphrey (Nancy Johnson) of Brunswick; one brother Coy C. Lewis of Mississippi; three grandchildren, Aaron Humphrey of Atlanta, Erica Michael (Caleb) of Milledgeville, and Brooke Waldrep (Ken) of Atlanta; and one great grandson, Noah Waldrep of Atlanta. She is preceded in death by her husband Buddy Ray Humphrey and three brothers, Rolph Hunt Lewis Jr., Douglas Lewis, and Thomas Lewis. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 24, 2014 in the chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jim Crandall will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Russell Rozier, Randy Rozier, Bobby Bean, Randall Moss, Gene Merrier, and Kevin Wells. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
