Obituary

Dorothy R. Oglesby, 87, Brunswick, died Thursday at the local hospital. A native of Wayne Co., she lived in Brunswick most of her life. She worked for and retired from the Glynn CO. School System in the cafeteria, and worked for the Jekyll Island Authority. She was a charter member of Glyndale Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She took a lot of pride in being with her family. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday 8-9-08 in the Chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ken Creekmore, Brother Jimmy Smith and Rev. Larry Copley are officiating. Visitation is Friday night 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested sent to Glyndale Baptist Church Building Fund, Hospice of the Golden Isles, and the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers will be Tony Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, Craig Oglesby, Stephen Oglesby, Wade Oglesby and Jeff Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be the Great Grandsons, and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Survivors include 4 sons, James L. Oglesby of Brunswick; Roger D. Oglesby of Screven; Jerry Oglesby of Brunswick, and William Paul Oglesby also of Brunswick, a daughter, Julia Ann Nelson of Brunswick, a brother, James Brown O'Quinn of Brunswick. 11 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren and her little companion, Peanut, also survive.
