Douglas Fredrick Henderson, 71, of Brunswick passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2005 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mr. Henderson had been a resident of Brunswick for the past 20 years coming from Ocala, Florida. He owned and operated D&B Sweeper Service, Inc. with his wife Betty. He was a member of St. Simons Island United Methodist Church and will be remembered as an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty L. Henderson of Brunswick; Four daughters: Cindy Driggers of Greenville, SC, Sharon Claiborne and Sandra Allen of Simpsonville, SC and Bobbie Jean Bates of Huntsville, AL; one son, Richard Heath of Lacey Springs, AL; one sister, Barbara Stone of Blue Ridge, GA; his cousin, Bobby Garrett of Brunswick; Nine grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or to the Heart Association of Glynn. The Golden Isles Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.
