Obituary

The heavens have opened and the angels rejoice for the one who loved the Lord on earth has now come home. Dr. J. Craig Brogdon, 50, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at his residence following a brief illness. A native of Panama City, FL, Dr. Brogdon had been a resident of Brunswick for the past year. He previously resided in Elberton, GA. He was the Minister of Music at Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick and was a member of the Georgia Baptist Sons of Jubal. Dr. Brogdon earned a Masters of Church Music from the Southeastern Baptist Theology Seminary in 1979 and receieved his Doctorate of Ministry and Worship from Northern Theology Seminary in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Terri Philbrick Brogdon; two sons, Daniel and Phillip Brogdon; one sister, Brenda Adams; his mother, Martha Ann Brogdon and numerous family members and friends. He was preceeded in death by his father, Edwin Davis Brogdon. Active pallbearers are: Jeremy Adams, Lynn Elmore, Daniel Herring, Tyler Herring, Brent Hinely and David Jameson. Honorary pallbearers are the Georgia Baptist Sons of Jubal and the Tuesday Morning Men''s Prayer Breakfast Group. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Music Ministry at Northside Baptist Church or to Hospice of the Golden Isles. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
