Duane Paul Torres, 54, of St. Simons Island, passed away from COVID pneumonia at Southeast Georgia Health System on September 9, 2021. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and grew up in Ewa Beach. He attended Damien Memorial High School, graduating class of 1984. Duane was a veteran who served in both the Army and the Air Force from 1984 until 1993. He worked at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah for 29 years. Duane and his family currently resided on St. Simons Island but had also lived in Savannah, Pooler, and Ludowici. A memorial service and Honor Guard presentation will be held at The Pentecostals of Brunswick on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Danny Webster, Thomas Crutchfield, and David Hodge officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life dinner immediately following the service.
