D.W. Gay, 79, a resident of Brunswick passed away June 3, 2008 after an extended illness. He lived in Glynn County for 55 years. He was one of four children born to David and Margaret Gay in Tooombs County Georgia on Nov. 27, 1928. He was the owner and operator of "Gay's Rolling Store" for 30 years. He loved his customers and enjoyed helping people. He was a very dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He never met a stranger. He was a jovial person who loved to talk and make people laugh. He is survived by one son Ronald Gay (Carole) of Brunswick, and one daughter Melinda Gay Simmons (Gary) of Brunswick. He is also survived by 4 granddaughters, Serena Simmons Richard (Seth) of Destin, FL., Deonne Simmons Alexander (John) of Brunswick, and Erika Simmons Wood (Joey) of Jacksonville, FL., and Angie Gay Headley (Seth) of Palm Bay, FL. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren and the love of his life, Alice Caisse (Jax. FL.) for 22 years.
