Eileen Bess Hutcheson, age 99, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 at Addington Place of Brunswick, Georgia.

Born and raised in England, she went through World War II experiencing the Nazi air raids on London. She met James Hutcheson, a WWII Air Force veteran, on Victory in Europe Day. They married in London and had 2 sons, Dallas P Hutcheson (Bluffton, SC) and Craig P Hutcheson (Agnes) (Freeport, FL) and moved to America. Eileen had 3 grandchildren (Katherine Hutcheson DeLuca (Dustin), Peter Hutcheson (Carol), Alexander Hutcheson (Jenna), 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, George and Bess Hall, her brother, Peter Hall and her husband.

Eileen was a resident of St Simons Island for over 30 years after retirement in an executive position for the Southern Company in Atlanta that owned Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Gulf Power Companies. In Atlanta, she was a fashion model, Director of the Atlanta Audubon Society, Co-Founder of the Edwardian Society of Atlanta. She was a member of the Shoe String Opera Company and St Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church choir. She was a world traveler, avid photographer of nature and gardener.

While residing in St Simons Island, she served on the Board of Village Green for over 20 years. Trained as a Naturalist by Taylor Schoettle, Eileen established a Nature Tour business, "Walks in Nature (WIN)" to the barrier islands, beaches, marshes and the Okefenokee Swamp. She was employed by Elderhostel of the USA, President of Residents United for Planning and Action (RUPA), Served on Glynn County Tree Board as well as the Governor of Georgia's Green Space Commission for Glynn County. She was a member of Christ Church and the Messiah Community Chorus. In addition, Eileen was President of the Mozart Society of Glynn County. As a volunteer, she served Manna House, the Glynn County Art Association, and the Board of Glynn Environmental Coalition.

Eileen wanted be remembered as Joyful in her faith and in life's blessings. She loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, His Creation and endeavored to always preserve the natural environment and creatures worldwide. She was a loyal friend and loyal citizen of the USA and Great Britain.
