Eleanor Frances Atkinson Hoffmann, 96, of Brunswick died Monday, June 5, 2017 at Sears Manor. Mrs. Hoffmann was born March 5, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Taylor-Alderdice High School. On May 21, 1945 Eleanor married Arthur H. Hoffmann. They lived in Washington D.C. during WWII and Mr. Hoffmann worked for the Navy Department. After WWII, they moved back to Western Pennsylvania and settled in Monroeville, PA. Mrs. Hoffmann was a homemaker and worked in the school lunchroom. She has resided in Brunswick since 2008.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, William Bradley and Frances Bigelow Atkinson and brother, William Bigelow Atkinson. She is survived by two sons, Glenn Hoffmann (Deborah) of Brunswick, GA., James Hoffmann (Elaine) of Bedford, Indiana; daughter, Janet Hoffmann of Hollywood, CA.; four grandchildren, Patrick Hoffmann (Jennifer) of Stevensville, MT., Lisa Oliver (Michael) of Fort Worth, TX., Kathy Voightschild (Brent) of Bedford, IN. and Kurt Hoffmann (Kim) of Louisville, CO.; sixteen great grandchildren, Haley, Micah, Trinity, Isaiah and Gideon Hoffmann; Keagan, Logan, Jordan and Roman Oliver; Amber, Quentin, Paige, Claire and Ben Voightschild and Ulysses and Abigail Hoffmann; sister, Elaine Johnston; sister-in-law, Dorothy Atkinson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Florida. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Sears Manor.
