Elford Dean Breland, Jr., 79 of Brunswick, GA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at home with his wife by his side.

He was born on August 14th, 1944 at Fort McPherson Army Base in Atlanta GA, the son of the late Dean and Wylie Breland.

He did a short stint in the United States Navy. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, but his passion was music, whether he was just talking about it or listening to it or playing it. He played in several bands through out his years in Atlanta, Cartersville and here in Brunswick. He played rock, country, and with an Elvis impersonator and at the churches he attended.

He enjoyed his game shows, his soaps, working crossword puzzles, cooking, creating things with wood, his Atlanta braves, Falcons and Jaguars and his Nascar, bowling, and his Lord. He was always ready to talk about any of them.

He loved his family and his church families dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Brook; his in-laws, Dave & Jackie Walker; a brother-in-law, David Walker, Jr., and a stepson, Chris Walker.

Left to cherish his memories include his wife of 32 years, Jean Walker Breland; his brother, Charles (Adrienne) Breland, his brother-in-law, Stanley (Jane) Santee; his sister-in-laws, Gail Rash and Barbara (Art) Ashmore; and a daughter-in-law, Marci Walker; his children, Kelly Breland, Candy McCormick, and Hammond (Virginia) Breland. The mothers of his children, Cozette, Jeanette, and Jackie.

His grandchildren & great grandchildren that he was so proud of, Haven, Kelsey (Tyler), Amanda, Lil Kelsey (Nolan), Kayla (Cherokee), Madison (Ryan), Joshua, Ella, Soliel, Madie Grace, Easton, Payton, Greyson & Amelia.

Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will forever be loved and missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 25th, at Northside Baptist church of Brunswick, located at 935 Chapel Crossing Road.
