Ellen "Reail" Burney-Faulk, 68, of Brunswick, Ga, passed from this life into her Eternal Home in Heaven on December 7, 2018. She left behind family and friends who loved her dearly and who will always remember her beautiful smile, sense of humor, quiet perseverance during many years of illness, her appreciation for her caregivers, and her great love, acceptance and compassion she had for everyone. Her family rejoices in that she is no longer suffering and bedridden but is dancing on streets of gold with her loved ones gone before her. The love of her life for thirty-five years, Joey C. Faulk, lay next to her when she quietly passed.
Reail is predeceased by her parents, J. R. Burney and Margaret Arnett-Burney, her brother, John Burney, and her sister, Diane Burney-Shoemaker, and many other much-loved kin, including her grandfather, Arthur L. Arnett.
She leaves behind her devoted, committed, loving companion and constant caregiver, Joey Faulk, who loved Reail unconditionally.
Reail will be deeply missed by her sons, David Johnson and Brad Johnson; daughter, Ashley Faulk; grandson, John David Johnson, and other precious ones. Missing her also will be her two first cousins, Julie Arnett of Wisconsin and Jackie Strickland of Brunswick; her maternal aunt, Ellen Arnett-Howell of Brunswick; and a prayer partner, P. H. of Colorado.
In Reail's last, bedridden years, she was able to recapture her passionate love of writing and beading. Being prolific, she left us with treasures and a volume of sometimes, heart wrenching poems and stories. Her last wishes and thoughts were not of flowers at her funeral or charitable donations, but that all her family would come to know her greatest Comforter, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service may be announced at a later date.
