St. Marys- Emily Rollins Morrissey passed away at home peacefully March 18, 2018
surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Lake City, South Carolina, Emily
and her husband Frank have called St. Marys, Georgia home for the past 15 years.
Emily was preceded in death by her father, William G. Rollins, and mother, Anne G.
Rollins. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frank D. Morrissey of St. Marys,
Georgia; daughter, Fran Skipper (Phillip), and son, Bo Morrissey (Molly) of Franklin,
Tennessee; sister, Susan Herndon (Warren) of Lexington, South Carolina. She leaves
behind four beautiful grandchildren who affectionately called her Meme; Lucy and
Reynolds Skipper and Blakely and Libby Morrissey. Also surviving are her brothers and
sister-in-law, John, Patrick, Michael, and Angie Morrissey.
Emily graduated in education from The College of Charleston and was a member of the
Tri Delta sorority. She received a Masters degree in speech pathology. Over the years she
helped hundreds of children through speech therapy and had a passion and life long
commitment to education. Emily will be remembered for being a great servant to her
church and community through Stephen Ministry, singing in the church choir, and
treating everyone she met with a loving heart.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in St. Marys, Georgia on
March 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at
the Indiantown Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am on March 23, 2018 in Hemingway,
South Carolina.
