Emily M.
Polmanteer
August 6, 1936 – April 24, 2026
Emily M. Parker Polmanteer, our loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, left us on Friday, April 24th at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 6, 1936, in Albany, Georgia, to Juanita Freeman Parker and Harry Charles Parker.
Emily lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys, fondly remembered by her “four B’s”: Bible, babies, butterflies, and bouquets. A graduate of Glynn Academy, she had a deep love for flowers and gardening and found great joy singing in the choir at Altama Presbyterian Church. She was a cosmetologist for 45 years.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Polmanteer; her great-grandson, Parker Price; her brother, Robert Parker; her sisters, Ann Parker, Paula Smith, and Jennifer Nix; and two sons-in-law, Edward Clark and James Bowles.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Carter (Ellis), Linda Clark, and Rhonda Aldridge (David); her brother, Harry Charles Parker Jr. (Sallie); and her brother-in-law, Gene Polmanteer of New York. She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her grandchildren: Catherine Kipp (Joey), Ryan Carter, Jason Carter (Amy), Devin Clark (Mallory), Lauren Price, and Tracy Clark (Laura); and her great-grandchildren: Ethan Kipp, Rowan, Audrey, Willow Carter, Barrett and Baylor Clark, Colt and Case Clark. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on May 9th, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Altama Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525, or to Altama Presbyterian Church, 100 Marsh Drive, Brunswick, GA 31525.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers—Ann Golden, Delilah Roberts, Genelda Scriven, Chantal Wrice, and Alicia Davis— and Hospice of the Golden Isles, and Dr. Certain and staff for their compassion and care.
We love you, always and forever, Mom!
