Ethel Wilcox Bianchi, 79, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was a life long resident of Brunswick. Ethel's business career in finance and insurance spanned more than 50 years and included Shelander-Berry & Cowden Insurance, the Garlington Group and Coastal Underwriters. She was very well known for her work ethic and loyalty to her employers and customers. She was a charter member of the Glynn County Association of Business Women. Ethel's educational accomplishments in the industry are too numerous to mention. Of note, she was one of the first three women in Glynn County to receive a Georgia Property and Casualty Insurance License. Ethel was a charter member of Altama Presbyterian Church, and also served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Altama Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bert Cramer officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service. Honorary Pallbearers include Poole Sunday School Class, Dr. Moores & Staff and Dr. Limberg & Staff. Survivors are a daughter, Carol Ann Bianchi of Brunswick; 4 sons, Timothy Christopher Batten of Brunswick, John A. (Katherine) Bianchi of Wylie, TX., Thomas (Janis) Bianchi of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Joseph (Eileen) Bianchi of Bainbridge, NY.; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth, John David, Amy (Matt Henchey) and John Richard. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bianchi. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Altama Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
