Fae M. Wertz, affectionately known as *Mrs. Dave*, 87, of Brunswick died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. She was the owner and operator of Dave*s Nursery in Brunswick, which she had founded in 1943. Mrs. Wertz possessed great foresight and innovation and introduced different varieties of plants to the area. A native of Hockingport, Ohio, she had been a resident of Brunswick since 1960. Survivors include three daughters, Mayme Meadows, JoAnn Hudon, and Sharon Morrison Wertz, all of Brunswick; one sister, Dorothy Hill of South Charleston, West Virginia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services were held the morning of Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment following in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden of Acacia. Officiating was The Rev. Bill Ligon. Serving as pallbearers were Patrick Meadows, Jr., Robert Hudon, Roy Draper, Hank Powell, Patrick O*Brien Meadows, III, and Kelly Meadows. Honorary pallbearers were Sidney T. Morrison, H. Vaughn Pope, Kirk Delschigs, Ron Braddock, and Chris Crapse. The family requests memorial donations made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Park Cemeteries and Funeral Home.
