Frances M. 'Nanny' Hamilton, 80, of Brunswick passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. A native of Quitman, Georgia, Mrs. Hamilton had lived in Brunswick since 1962. She had previously worked at The Deck and Sayde's Dress Shop in downtown Brunswick. She was also the owner and operator of a private home day care for children during the late '70's. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and taught the Lydia Sunday School class. She is survived by her two daughters, Deneise Carver and Darlene Knowles, both of Brunswick; a son, Andrew Hamilton also of Brunswick; two sisters, Eloise Simmons of Brunswick and Ruth Kingrey of Washington state; two brothers, Ben Miller of Quitman and Marlin Miller of Arcadia, FL; Six grandchildren; Two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are: Al McKinnon, Hollis Keene, Jerry Alexander, Pat Womack and James Grantham. Honorary pallbearers are: the Lydia Sunday School class, Dr. Lana Skelton & Staff, Dr. David Lawson & Staff and the Staff and nurses at Hospice of the Golden Isles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
