Obituary

Frances Lake, 87, of Brunswick died Wednesday at Sears Manor. Born in Michigan, Mrs. Lake grew up in Gadsden, Alabama. After meeting her husband, Charles S. Lake in Alabama she joined the Navy during WWII, while Charles was stationed in the Pacific Theater. After the war she became a stenographer, working in Manhattan. She retired from the Herricks School System in 1986 and moved to Fancy Bluff, where they resided until her stroke in 1999. Mrs. Lake's favorite quote, which she always tried to live by was "Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil." Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years Charles S. Lake of Brunswick; sister, Monteal Tucker of Gadsden, AL.; brother, Roy Spores of Brunswick; son, Steve Lake (Kathy) of Columbus, OH.; daughter, Katherine Fendig (Cap) of St. Simons; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
