Frances was born in Augusta, GA., graduated from Tubman Girls High School, attended University of Georgia, worked for Marietta Daily Journal, WFOM Radio and Ken Stanton Music. Before retirement Frances worked at the St. Simons' Island Lighthouse and was later employed by Alanson's Gift Shop in the original Cloister Hotel.Frances is survived by her husband, Jack Lenz, of St. Simon's Island; six children, Roger Wesley McCoy (Deborah) of Marietta, GA., Matthew Story McCoy (Mechelle) of Crawfordville, FL., Michael Byron McCoy (Jeanette) of Sandia Park, NM., Julie McCoy Rehner of Kathleen, GA., John Kerry McCoy (Darlina) of Dallas, GA., and Joseph Randall McCoy (Susan) of Mableton, GA.; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by Roger McCoy, father of her six children. Frances is also survived by three children by marriage, Claudia Lenz, Paul Lenz, and Lucy Lenz Zantow (Byron); and four grandchildren.
