Frank Mitchell Schaker, Jr., passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 87, on St. Simons Island Georgia. He was born on February 26, 1939, in Wildwood, Florida to Frank Mitchell Schaker Sr. and Ruth Bradshaw Schaker.

He grew up in Savannah Georgia and graduated from Savannah High School after which he attended Armstrong State College.

Mitchell is survived by his devoted partner of 52 years, Sophia Wolfe; his son, Frank Mitchell Schaker III (Ann) his daughter, Michelle Schaker, his grandson, Tyler Schaker, his granddaughter, Serena Meador, his great-granddaughter, Savannah Meador and his sisters, Claudia Connor (Don), Susan Coffin (John), Candace King, Merry Dale (Roger), and Elizabeth Andersson (Karl). Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mitchell was a man of many passions—fishing, playing tennis, riding his bike, and sailing—all of which kept him active and connected to the world around him. His career was in sales which allowed him to travel the country most of his adult life. Never one to miss mealtime or nap time, he enjoyed his retirement on “The Island”, getting together with friends and family enjoying what he called “KMA cocktail hour”. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in the chapel at 1:00 p.m.
