Freida G. Tawney, 85, of Brunswick died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Freida has been a resident of Glynn County since 1964. She retired from FLETC after more than twenty-five years. She was a founding member of the Golden Isles Baptist Church. Freida was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Tawney. Survivors include children, Sue Brauda Abbott, Gail Raye Hale, Jane Drury, Gregory W. Tawney (Freda), and Randall Tawney (Michelle); grandchildren, Ronnie Brauda, Jr., Brandon Brauda, Preston Hanson, Victor Hanson, Victoria Todd, Samantha Cunningham, Margie Mock, Chris Tawney, Megan Wilson, Madeline Tawney, and Skiles Tawney; twelve great grandchildren and extended family. Remembrances may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles. A funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home.
