Geneva Levy, a remarkable and inspirational woman, passed away on Thursday, July 14th, at the age of 87 in Brunswick, Georgia. Geneva was born near Gainesville, Florida, married her husband, Leon, in 1944 and moved to South Florida where she resided most of her life. A few years after Leon's death in 2010, Geneva moved to Brunswick.
Geneva worked as a switchboard operator for a Miami auto dealership for many years until Leon retired from the US Post Office. The couple moved to Ocala, before finally settling in Fort Lauderdale for the next 25 years.
As all who knew her can attest, Geneva was a beautiful and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always positive, never said a bad word about anyone and was friendly to everyone she met.
Geneva is survived by her children: Michael Levy, William Levy and Annette Neu; her daughters in law: Jodi Levy and Nikki Levy and her son in law Jack Neu; her grandchildren: Susan Levy Gerhart, Amanda Levy Green, Marc Neu, and Alicia Neu Bailey, their spouses: Brian Gerhart, William Green, Missy Neu and Clay Bailey; and her great grandchildren: Kayla Gerhart, Tyler Gerhart, Harrison Green, Zane Green, Clay Bailey Jr., Cole Bailey and Kensi Bailey.
The service will be held at St. Williams Catholic Church, 2300 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, July 19th.
The family expresses deep appreciation for the wonderful and compassionate care provided by the staff and volunteers of Hospice of the Golden Isles. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Hospice of the Golden Isles in memory and tribute to Geneva Levy.
