Obituary

Geneva O'Quinn Susenbach, a long-time resident of Glynn County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on August 22, 1961, Geneva was a woman of undeniable spirit, known to all who loved her as resilient and a true fighter. She faced numerous health battles over the years with courage and strength, never letting them diminish her passion for life and her love for others. It was finally time for her to rest, but the resilience and compassion she modeled will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Geneva's life was defined by her deep dedication to serving others. Early in her career, she spent several years nurturing young minds as a Pre-K paraprofessional with the school system at FACES. Her greatest passion, however, was in helping people suffering from addiction and trauma. She began this critical journey at Gateway Behavioral Health Services. Later, working alongside her husband at The Susenbach Group, she extended her care, offering calm support to battered women and presenting hopeful accountability to men. Geneva had an innate and rare ability to connect with people, truly answering a calling to assist those most in need of support and a new start.

Aside from her work, Geneva loved to spend time with her family, enjoyed plants and watching her hummingbirds. Geneva's heart also held a special place for her two beloved dogs.

Geneva was grateful for the valuable friendship of three wonderful women who enriched her life: Debbie Hepting, Nancy Linkenhoker, and Kristin Yukness.

She will be profoundly missed by her loving husband, H. Paul Susenbach; her devoted children, Jessica (Jaime) Jobe and Carl (Sheryl) Black; and her five beautiful granddaughters, Makenzie and Rilyn Altman, and Freya, Piper, and Aubrey Black, all of Glynn County.

Geneva was predeceased by her mother, Carol Jean Strickland, and her two brothers, Robert O'Quinn and Randall O'Quinn, all of Brantley County, GA.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when available.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Geneva's honor to New Roots Glynn, an organization dedicated to helping others, reflecting Geneva's lifelong mission. Donations may be mailed to: New Roots Glynn, 1507 Reynolds Street, Brunswick, GA 31520.

Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
