George D. Jones, 74, of Brunswick, died at his residence February 24th. He had lived here for the past 20 years, and was retired from Howard Johnsons after 20 years of service. He also worked at Piccadilly's in the Glynn Place Mall. He was a member of Arco United Methodist Church, and a past member of the Elks Club. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2PM in the Chapel of the Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with Father Al Crumpton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Tuesday night from 6 to 8 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. He is survived by a son, George Ellis (Kathy) Jones of St Simons Island; 4 daughters, Kathy (Carl) Lupo of St Simons Island, Beth Jones Brock of Brunswick, Trent Jones Cohen of Brunswick, and Vernell (Sammie) White of Bunn, N.C. a step son, Scott (Greta) Turner of Brunswick, and a step daughter, Connie (Nathan) Wells of Brunswick; 2 sisters, Ann (Joe) Faison of Bunn, N.C., and Margaret Baucom of Angier, N.C; grandchildren, Russell Cohen V, Mary Beth Lupo, Katherine White, Ian Jones, Colton Jones, Matthew Turner, Jesse Turner, and Haley Wells Chitty; 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. He is predeceased by 2 wonderful wives, Mary Ellis West Jones, and Christine Turner Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to our local Heartland Hospice, and to the New Vision Building Fund, Bunn Baptist Church, 205 E. Jewett Avenue, Bunn, N.C. 27508.
