Spaulding
October 10, 1940 – November 5, 2023
Glenn R. Spaulding Sr. , 83, departed this life in the early morning hours of Sunday November 5th, 2023, in the presence of his loving family. Glenn was born the 10th of October, 1940, to the late Robert and Ina Spaulding. Glenn was a 1958 graduate of Glynn Academy. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, and served on the U.S.S. Forrestal from 1958 to 1963.
He was a member of the Masonic Ocean Lodge #214 F & AM. He was also a member of the Brunswick shrine club, Alee Temple and was president of the buccaneers in 1981. Glenn met the love of his life in Atlanta in 1964, and they were married shortly after. Glenn and Sandra started their family in 1968 and went on to have five children. He started his building business, Superior Builders, in 1970, while also working with the international brotherhood of boilermakers local #26, retiring at age 62.
Glenn's fighting spirit and strength endured in 2014 carried him through a battle of cancer will never be forgotten.
Glenn enjoyed traveling with family, fishing, and visits with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenn was very passionate about his construction work and continued his work up until his death. He shared many laughs and loved to reminisce on his days of working on the road and as a sailor in the Navy
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Sandra L. Spaulding, son Glenn Spaulding Jr. and wife Tina; three daughters, Stori Spaulding; Stacie Smith and husband Jared; Stephanie Richey and husband Brandon; son Shaun Spaulding and wife Monica; eight grandchildren, Elaina Gornto and Sandi Gornto; Kristen Stewart, Alyssa woods, and Alden woods; Stephen Cookson and Stuart Cookson; Olivia Spaulding., and 7 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Ina Spaulding; sisters, Betty House, Denise Copertino and Willodeen Horne; brothers, Bob Spaulding, and Fred Spaulding.
