Harold B. Jackson of Brunswick departed this life on December 17, 2007 at an age of 88 years. He was born November 8, 1919 in Hyde Park, Mass. He was a decorated Lt. Commander in the United States Navy, serving during World War II as a Naval Aviator. He retired from the Navy after 23 years of service. Being an avid golfer, he settled in the Golden Isles in 1968 after retiring at Glynco naval Air Station. He played golf with the Jekyll Island Men's Club and worked for the Jekyll Island Authority until the age of 85. Harold was predeceased by his beautiful wife of 50 years, Claire Lorraine Jackson. He is survived by his children, Paul Jackson and Phillip Jackson, both of Brunswick, Linda Jackson Nelson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Eric C. Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida. He has six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Memorial contributions are to be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
