Helen Marie Tankersley, 68, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Helen worked at OCI and KOCH Cellulose (Pulp Mill) for many years, where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed her leisure time riding with her husband in their boat, fishing and shopping. Her husband and she spent time together watching baseball and football games together. Family was very important to Helen. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchild and her cat, "Ginger". According to her family, her passion was telling others how to drive. Overall, Helen enjoyed life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hoadley Nix and Grace Easterlin Nix; a brother, John Hoadly Nix Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Linwood Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward W. "Bill" Tankersley, Jr.; son, Edward W. 'Tank'ersley III and wife, Deidra A. of Brunswick; daughter, Brenda Faye Tankersley Bennett and husband, Greg A. of Brunswick; sister, Patricia Lucille Jackson; brothers, James Robert Nix and wife, Edith; Charles Richard Nix and wife, Carla; sister-in-law, Patsy Nix; 6 grandchildren, Kristen M. Combs and husband, Jonathan, Shelby A. Tankersley, David G. Bennett, Amber D. Tankersley, Gracyn N. Bailey and W. Trent Tankersley; great grandchild, Fayelynn Terry Combs. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Edward William Tankersley III, David Bennett, Hal Strickland, Charlie Bankston, Martin Chavero and Melvin Ulrich. Honorary Pallbearers will be Co-Workers from OCI and KOCH Cellulose (Pulp Mill).
