Homer Sanders Fountain passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, two months shy of his 100th birthday. He was born on April 29, 1925 to Willie Smith Fountain and Homer Sanders Fountain, Sr. in Birmingham, AL. Homer attended Norwich University where he studied flight engineering during his military service in the Air Force. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Connors Fountain on January 6, 1950. Homer's career as a pilot took the family to Mississippi, Utah, Alabama and Georgia where Homer was chief pilot for the Southern Company. Homer and Dot retired to Brunswick, Georgia where they were members of The Ambassador's Club and the Shoreline Dance Club. Homer enjoyed fishing, football, spending time with family and socializing with his wonderful neighbors. Following Dot's death, Homer moved to Summerville, SC where he lived out his last years at The Blake at Carnes Cossroads. Homer was a selfless man who always put his family first.
Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Dot, a daughter, Paige Fountain Killeen and grandson Zack Keim.
Survivors include his daughters, Leslie F. Burford (Bart) and Lacey F. Wilson (Danny); grandchildren, Ashley B. Padgett (David), Alexis K. Blue (Ryan), Taylor Burford (Mellody); a niece, Stacy Noe (Mickey); great grandchildren, Sanders Padgett, Ford Padgett, Tanner Blue, Connor Blue, Locklin Burford, Layton Burford, Townes Burford, Banks Keim, and Sterling Keim; and great nieces, Hayley Noe and Saylor Noe.
Graveside Services will be on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Brunswick Memorial Park.
