Jackie Pettite Brookins, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Born in Atlanta to Mable and Jesse Pettite, Sr., she grew up in College Park, graduated from College Park High School, and began a career in property management that would span over 40 years. She moved to Savannah in the late 1990's and managed various properties before retiring from MAA Communities. She and her husband, Robbie, enjoyed living and fishing on Jones Creek in Midway for 20 years. Jackie moved to St. Simons Island about 5 years ago and lived there until her passing.

Known as the life of the party, Jackie never met a stranger and once she met you, you were her friend. She loved card games (Canasta, Poker…) and Mexican Train Dominoes, St. Patrick's Day (and all holidays), and fishing, and she was a wonderful cook. Jackie's bond with her brothers and sisters was very important to her and she cherished the time they spent together, including their many trips to the Georgia mountains. She was a friend to everyone, but most importantly, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Besides her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie Edward Brookins; brothers, Steven Pettite and Michael Pettite; sister, Gail Wallace; and grandson, Kaleb Roberts, Sr.

She is survived by her children, James Edward "Eddie" Roberts (Allyson) of St. Simons Island and Melanie Roberts (Chris Arendall) of Richmond Hill; grandchildren, Leland "Land" Roberts, Lillian "Mabel" Roberts, and Taylor Arendall; great-grandchildren, Lenayah Roberts, Khloe Roberts, and Kaleb Roberts, Jr.; sisters, Faye Moore (Buddy) of Dahlonega and Linda White (Harry) of Greensboro; brother, Jesse Pettite, Jr. (Sherry) of Dunwoody; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home beginning at 11:30 am. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 am.
