James Bennett Caraway, age 49, passed away on March 9th, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL after gracefully battling Myasthenia Gravis and Neuropathy since 2015. James was born in Dublin, Ga on Sept. 21st,1968, and has resided in Brunswick since 1987. While residing in Brunswick, he was the owner/operator of Caraway Construction. James was also employed by John Jones, owner of Liberty Construction, as a superintendent. James loved the outdoors and NASCAR. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Hosting bar-b-ques, and cooking for his loved ones was one of his favorite pastimes.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Headrick Caraway, and his mother-in-law Ruby McCall.
James is survived by his loving wife Teresa McCall Caraway; two daughters; Victoria Blount, Rebekah (JT) Johnson all from Brunswick; son Benjamin Caraway, of Swainsboro, GA. Father-in-law, J.E. McCall, brother-in-law Edward McCall both from Brunswick, and several nieces and nephews.
Six grandchildren; BayLee Johnson, Abbie and Ashton Curry (their father Anthony Curry who was a dear friend of James), all from Brunswick. Kobe, Kane, and Rayli Caraway all from Swainsboro, GA.
James is survived by a very special and devoted friend/sister Kim Dixon of Brunswick, Ga.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
